Medical practices in Antioch have improved over the past few decades as a result of two chief factors namely research and formalisation of the whole industry. Health records take the centre stage in the effort to formalise the practise because they provide a reliable foundation for the treatment of patients over time. Such records are not only limited to the patient’s history but rather to all the recorded medical information that could show trends or patterns of health issues in different people over long periods.
Electronic health records have therefore become popular in modern societies. Almost all industries are increasingly embracing digitisation in all processes. The medical industry has not been left behind in this. Medical records have also been adapted to digital means of collection and storage that defines the concept of electronic medical records.
The benefits of having electronic health records make the whole shift worthwhile. Medical practitioners in different regions or categories may now easily share patient data. This, therefore, makes treatment processes much more efficient and provides essential medical histories for patients without much effort. There is also no denying the convenience of electronic records over physical ones besides the obvious ones such as storage ease and the ease of retrieving the data on demand.
EMR Software Solution for Medical Records Management in Tennessee
Electronic health records in Antioch TN have evolved the way that medical practitioners operate in terms of collecting and keeping patients’ data. All modern health facilities have jumped on the bandwagon of adopting this trend. Let’s just quickly evaluate the key advantages that come with the use of electronic health record systems.
- Seeing The Bigger Picture
Health records provide a history of each patient’s medical issues and conditions. This, therefore, allows medical practitioners to familiarise themselves with the patient whether it’s on a visit to a dentist or an oncologist. By familiarising themselves with the client’s medical background, health experts can better appreciate the bigger picture of the patient’s health and identify any health patterns.
- Efficient Record Updates and Retrievals
The primary agenda of any health record system is to provide a reliable source of patient details. Electronic records therefore totally satisfy this need in the industry. Patent details can even be inputted into the system directly from the medical equipment like BP meters or thermometers. EHRs also eliminate a lot of problems such as parallax errors which come with written records hence enhancing the integrity of the records. Lastly, the time taken to retrieve electronic records is negligible and therefore makes treatment processes much more efficient in Antioch.
- Better Record Security
Digital means of data storage and collection are better at providing data security than physical records. The risk of destruction is as good as zero since backups can be created on several devices such as hard drives. Data can also be uploaded to offsite organisations or to the web where it’s secured even when the hardware is destroyed. Electronic records are also more secure from manipulations and alterations than physical records. Digital data is easily encrypted and electronic devices can be programmed to alert the relevant guardians of the information whenever attempts are made to change such records at all.
- Less Record-Keeping Costs
The traditional means of keeping records involved tedious filing along with a great deal of infrastructures to keep the records and maintain room conditions at ideal levels that ensured the integrity of the records on paper. To top it off, the arduous processes of physically managing all these records required a lot of manpower which all translated to higher costs of creating and maintaining the records. Electronic records, however, demand very little financial support. A single computer with a large hard drive can perform the job with more ease and efficiency.

Antioch is a neighborhood of Nashville approximately 12 miles Southeast of Nashville. It is served by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County. The area is assigned to postal Zip Code 37013.
The community known as Antioch began at the convergence of Antioch Pike, Hickory Hollow Parkway, Blue Hole Road, and Mt. View Road. The original town of Antioch began as a church located by Mill Creek in 1810. Antioch was a commuter town because workers traveled to and from downtown Nashville. From the beginning, the town provided immediate services like a post office and general store. For planning purposes, the community was given the name Antioch–Priest Lake because the study area encompassed areas near J. Percy Priest Lake and the neighborhoods that grew from the heart of Antioch in the early 1800s.
In 1810, The First Baptist Church was organized in the area near Mill Creek. Then in 1820, a large landowner by the name of Charles Hays donated land for the church to build on, and began referring to it as the Church at Antioch, giving the town its name. Charles Hays based the name change on Bible scripture (Acts 11:26 KJV) which states "... and the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." The village was known as Antioch from 1820 onward. For a short time in the 1870s and 1880s, the post office designation for the village was Oneyville, named after the post master of that time, Dr. J. H. Oney. However, it was later changed back to the Antioch.
